Check out Cabaret on Biltmore Hat’s New Video

We were so honored that Biltmore Hats asked us to participate in their new video. As the exclusive Canadian retailer of one of the oldest quality men’s hat companies in North America, Elizabeth was happy to speak about why we love Biltmores and have chosen it as the only line of “newly constructed” products that we carry in our store.

Contact 2009: Sara Angelucci

Pictured directly above is camera shy (this is as close as I was able to get to her with a lense) photographer, Sara Angelucci at the opening of her exhibit Regular 8 at the Wynick/Tuck Gallery in the 401 Richmond Centre.  Sara’s exhibit is part of the Contact 2009 festival continuing till May 30.

When Sara came to us at Cabaret months ago looking for vintage fashions for her models we were only happy to help her.  Regular 8 is done in a style which looks like a blown up image of super 8 film depiciting a variety of scenes of life in some magical time between the 1940s to 60s.  From pinned updos and wingtip shoes, each model has each vintage detail in place as the camera captures them at weddings, out with friends at a swanky bar for cocktails, or lovingly sharing a priviate moment with a child.

Its a show that you shouldn’t miss.  Check out Regular 8 before you miss it.

Exhibit: Regular 8, Wynick/Tuck Gallery, North Gallery Space. Opening May 9, 2–5 p.m.; May 9 to 30

World News: Badgley Mischka’s new bridal collection shows a vintage flair

We at Cabaret have always loved vintage as a great look for brides and wedding guests, so its wonderful to see that some of the major modern designers are also looking toward vintage styling and silhouettes.

“The Badgley Mischka Bride collection for Fall 2009, presented in New York on Sunday, April 5, featured eight timeless, understated styles, from a vintage-feel Champagne-colored trumpet gown overlaid with lace to a minimally embellished strapless gown of frothy pearl-colored organza dress with diagonally placed ruffles along the trumpet skirt.”

You can read the full article here and check out our new arrivals area to see some of Cabaret’s Vintage bridal looks.
