Cabaret Vintage on Style Me Pretty with A Simple Picture

StyleMePretty.com is a fantastic resource for inspiration when wedding planning. We were honored to be invited to provide looks for a Bohemian-inspired wedding shoot by A Simple Photograph featuring fantastic rentals by Hazlitt Vintage Rentals. The whole tone of the shoot was brought to life by vintage props and pieces and the rustic outdoor atmosphere was truly a unique experience.
Cabaret Vintage Toronto styled our models, Katie and Eric. Cabaret is a vintage clothing company that has been known to style a wedding or two in their day! Most of what they carry in their shop is authentic vintage clothing, but they also have designed a wedding line that is modern but vintage inspired (http://www.cabaretvintage.com/category/bridal-the-cabaret-collection-wedding-dresses/) . Tao provided Katie with elements of both old and new! She wore three bridal looks though out the shoot.
The first was “The Baby Doll”. A vintage inspired gown that Tao paired with a black velvet cape circa 1960. The second was a beaded shift dress, which I believe was also a 1960′s gown. This was paired with a vintage mink and finally Katie wore the dress she sported at her own wedding to Eric earlier this year, “The Soiree”. This is also a vintage inspired dress that Tao paired with yet another mink. Katie was gorgeous! Eric’s look was masculine rugged and bohemian. (Article excerpt via StyleMePretty.com)

We love the vintage retro style in Scott Pilgrim vs The World
I think its an understatement to say, that we really enjoyed Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s character Ramona Flowers in her new movie Scott Pilgrim vs The World. It was fantastic to see a film that not only used authentic Toronto locales but also had a hint of authentic Toronto street-style as well. We’ve picked out a few pieces from our racks that wouldn’t be out of place in the closets of either Scott or Ramona.

Our two vintage stylistas are off for an afternoon at the Toronto Islands, packing umbrellas and a light lunch they take the 15min ferry ride to check out the Toronto skyline from another perspective. Our stylish lady wears a vintage 50s print one piece swimsuit with a straw boater hat from the 50s. Her eye protection are original Correna of France shades made popular in the 60s by Jackie Kennedy. Her awesome guy stays cool with a Hawaiian made classic Hawaiian shirt and completes the look with a 50s straw fedora. His glasses are orignal 60s aviators with curved arms. Together they make a stylish pair as they explore the shoreline.

No, they are not international spies…but they look like they could be? Rachel and James make quite the dynamic duo.

Who says going to a wedding this summer has to mean putting yourself into an outfit that you aren’t going to wear again or be comfortable in? We love this look for a summer wedding or other special event that shows individual personality but still looking fantastic.
