New Vintage Arrival: 1960s Linen Turquoise Day Dress

Posted on | June 11, 2009 | No Comments

I have two favorite things about this particular dress – first the fact that its comprised of 100% linen.  Its rare to find even newly constructed garments in linen that have a colour this vivid.  The second is the contrasting white cotton trim that draws the eye to the vertical and elongates the body.  This dress is a lot of fun and perfect if you have some figure areas that you would rather downplay.

New Vintage Arrival: 1960s Cotton Black and White Polka Dot Day Dress

More polka-dots today, this time from the 60′s in cotton.  This particular dress is darling, with the designer making the most of the use of contrasting the dots in a very symetrical pattern.  The black on white and white on black are very striking combinations with the addition of superb tailoring.

Soft and lovely this cheerful vintage silk dress has a fantastic design detail – the plunging back with slightly draped pleat.  It would be great for a day about town.
