New Vintage Arrival: 1940’s Silk Organza and Lace Dress with Collar Accent AP
Posted on | July 16, 2010 | No Comments
Subtle detail is the order of the day with this 1940’s original. The foundation of it all is a beautiful silk dress with a round skirt and a sweetheart neckline. Layered on top is an airy silk organza skirt that is carried to the top in a deep v that starts at the front and continues to the back creating a faux bateau look. To add to the modest look of the dress a very fine lace is used to cover the bodice and forms a high-necked collar that finished off in a light knot at the nape of the neck. Though there is a lot happening in the dress in details, the overall look of the piece is unified and quite beautiful.

New Vintage Arrival: 1960’s Lemon Yellow Silk Chiffon and Lace Tea Dress AP
Posted on | July 15, 2010 | No Comments
This dress is a sweet treat in sherbet lemon silk chiffon. Accented with a lace wrapped bodice, this dress is very flattering with a high waist that sits just below the bust-line and flares out in a light foam of vintage silk. As an added sweet touch there is a lovely little bow at the back in chiffon. Our favorite detail on this dress is the unique construction of the neckline; a folded ruching of a combination of chiffon that is given added stiffness with tulle. This dress wouldn’t be out of place in a lovely garden party.

New Vintage Arrival: 1960s Little Black Beaded and Sequin Cocktail Dress
Posted on | July 14, 2010 | No Comments
Splashy and fun, this cocktail dress is accented with black sequins and beads that are accented in a geometric pattern on the skirt, neckline and at the back. The fit is made to be a bit looser on the body making it perfect for warmer weather. The sleeveless design also lends the dress to be perfect for attending an summer evening event outdoors, maybe even an outdoor wedding. This dress is in perfect condition and made from a crepe-like fabric, it travels well too.

Cabaret Vintage Streetstyle: Katie

We love Katie’s almost western-inspired look with her fantastic vintage cowboy boots and scarf accent. Our favorite accessory though, is her vintage colombian coffee grower’s bag that is in fantastic condition and a one-of-a-kind combination of a variety of fabrics.

Rain rain go away….
Sometimes its hard to decide what to wear in warmer weather, yet no sun. Talyeh’s outfit is the perfect solution for those grey, rainy summer days with a bit of a chill in the air. Her cropped raincoat and scarf can be removed in layers if the day should get warmer while she’s out on the town.
