Posted on | October 7, 2010 | 1 Comment

A lovely evening suit that is really what comes to mind when you think of women’s suits of that era. Cropped jacket with a straight skirt combined with lovely tailoring. The fabric is satin brocade with a paisley/floral motif that is only really seen in when the light sheen that the fabric has hits the right light. Two buttons and one hook closure at the front with a round modified shawl neck collar. The skirt has a flat waist and a metal zipper at the side.  For more details and images, take a look at this piece in our online boutique.

Cabaret Vintage New Arrivals: 1960′s Silk floral dress with bow

Posted on | October 6, 2010 | No Comments

The most noticeable feature of this dress is the beautiful almost Impressionist-like print of the pattern that is screened on a very high quality silk, but there is much more to it. The tailoring n this dress is very subtle and exquisite. The Empire waist is modified by having a flattering dip at the back to emphasize the curves on the female body. At the front, there is a lovely detail done with draping to create an emphasis on the bustline without being revealing. To top it off there is a lovely string bow at the front made from the same silk piping that is used at the bust line. The sleeves are also formed from a single piece of the dress – again everything about this dress is made to be both flattering and sensual to the female form.

Made by Rodolphe of Toronto and Paris and metal zipper at side.  For more details and images, take a look at this piece in our online boutique.

Cabaret Vintage Cocktail Bride: Natalie

Glowing Cabaret Cocktail Bride Natalie

Glowing Cabaret Cocktail Bride Natalie

Hi Cabaret,

After spending several months in the summer and early fall of 2009 searching for the perfect vintage-inspired dress, my sister and I found ourselves in Cabaret Vintage. And there “it” was: my dress. Cabaret’s Soiree was exactly what I had been looking for! The staff’s personable service made repeat visits to the store a pleasure, and Elizabeth Oliveira’s creativity, professionalism, and attention to detail literally made my dream-dress a reality. I will never forget the look on Andrew’s face when I reached the end of the aisle!

I’ve attached a few pictures from our day this past May–in case you’re interested in seeing the dress in action. The first two were taken by a family friend/photographer, Kat Witzel, and the third, by Andrew’s Uncle Rob.

Thank you again for all your help,

Natalie
