Stay-cations were supposed to be the big travel trend this year, but we haven’t yet heard of anyone ditching their exotic trip in favour of two nights at the Holiday Inn on King. Guests who book a room Sunday, Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday in January or February can request the Urban Shopping Bag stuffed with discounts of up to 25 per cent at local indie retailers including Made You Look (1273 Queen West, 416-516-9595), ShopGirls (1342 Queen West, 416-534-7467), Nearly Naked (920 Queen West, 416-588-7090) and Cabaret (672 Queen West, 416-504-7126). Until January 31, a standard room is $125.
