Inspired by les Demimondes in turn of the century France, Mi Manchi is vintage boudoir photography that leaves mystery to the imagination. Exhibiting as part of the Contact Photography Festival (www.scotiabankcontactphoto.com), Cabaret Vintage is honoured to host the exhibit May 4-31.

Transforming Cabaret Vintage into a traditional Speakeasy, this Friday’s opening show will feature turn-of-the-century photography, music, & Victorian hor d’ouerves provided by Nutrition Kitchen. National Post’s Happy Hour columnist Adam McDowell will be on hand, crafting a cocktail founded in 1800s New Orleans. And winner of the “Legends’ Choice Award” at The Great Burlesque Exposition in the United States, St. Stella will be performing turn-of-the-century burlesque.

Last featured on Fashion Television, TVO, XTRA! and receiving critic’s pick in Now Magazine, photographer Paddy Jane & Cabaret Vintage’s last Contact festival collaboration, The Original Hustler, reimagined the Prohibition Era in the 1920s. Over the years we have had countless rare treasures, but one of the most fun and popular have been the Vintage Peek-a-boo Pin-up Ties from the 1940s and 1950s.  They have also become one of the hardest items to acquire.  There is good news though.  A little company in the U.S. has emerged to make these classics available again.  Miss Feeney Peek-A-Boo Ties are available in Canada exclusively through Kingpin Pop-up Shop now at Cabaret, Lower Level, for a limited time.

This beautiful French corded 1950’s vintage- inspired lace dress has become and instant hit!  We had been working on a full lace dress since January and knew that we wanted to use this same lace that is optional with The Grace Kelly in The Collection.  We quietly added it to The Cabaret Collection a couple of months ago and it received a fantastic response and immediate orders.  It comes in Ivory or Antique lace and lining with a wide or narrow sash.  It is available, in sizes 0 – 14, off the rack when in stock, by order in 8 weeks, and soon online.  Please call or email if you have any questions.
