Love, Loss, and What Mary Walsh Wore

Mary Walsh at Cabaret Vintage, trying on clothing for her appearance on Star Portraits.
Its always wonderful having Star Reporter Rita Zekas in, and especially so when she brings friends. Rita and comedienne Mary Walsh came to Cabaret last week to hang out on the divan and talk about her appearance in the Toronto staging of Love, Loss, and What I Wore. Check out the full article in the Toronto Star.

We love the vintage retro style in Scott Pilgrim vs The World
I think its an understatement to say, that we really enjoyed Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s character Ramona Flowers in her new movie Scott Pilgrim vs The World. It was fantastic to see a film that not only used authentic Toronto locales but also had a hint of authentic Toronto street-style as well. We’ve picked out a few pieces from our racks that wouldn’t be out of place in the closets of either Scott or Ramona.

One of the things we love about being part of the Queen St. West community are our fantastic neighbours. We love seeing everyone, especially when they pop by the store to say “hi”. Musician Joel Plaskett came by recently and as always it was a pleasure. Joel often drops in when he is visiting from his home out East. He also has a great new cd. Check out his music on http://www.joelplaskett.com/

Its always better to better to witness first hand, rather than read history but sometimes its just not possible to make it happen. Lilith Fair comes to Toronto this summer again and if you can’t make it to this fantastic music festival yourself, hve no fear Cabaret has you covered.
Cabaret friend and Lilith Fair participant Melissa McClelland will be playing tour guide to the ins and outs of the music series! We love Melissa’s style and she has also been spotted on the town with her Cabaret dresses. So stay tuned.
