“I have a brand new floral 1950’s dress to add to my Cabaret collection. It was the perfect, summery choice for my Lilith shows across North America.  For every comment I got on my lovely dress (& I got many!) I was sure to sing the praises of my favorite Toronto vintage shop – Cabaret Vintage in Toronto.  The folks at Cabaret dressed me for my wedding & they have dressed me for the stage & now my closet is oh so pretty.”

Its always wonderful having Star Reporter Rita Zekas in, and especially so when she brings friends.  Rita and comedienne Mary Walsh came to Cabaret last week to hang out on the divan and talk about her appearance in the Toronto staging of Love, Loss, and What I Wore.  Check out the full article in the Toronto Star.

Scott Pilgrim vs The World: Vintage/Retro Style Inspired Looks

We love the vintage retro style in Scott Pilgram vs The World

I think its an understatement to say, that we really enjoyed Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s character Ramona Flowers in her new movie Scott Pilgrim vs The World.  It was fantastic to see a film that not only used authentic Toronto locales but also had a hint of authentic Toronto street-style as well.  We’ve picked out a few pieces from our racks that wouldn’t be out of place in the closets of either Scott or Ramona.

We love that Mary Elizabeth takes the time to pop into Cabaret Vintage  when she’s in town – not only is she a talented actor but a fantastic person.  We have advance screening passes to check out her newest film – Scott Pilgrim vs The World so if you are in Toronto tonight,  give us a call at the store before 3pm.

Joel Plaskett visits Cabaret

One of the things we love about being part of the Queen St. West community are our fantastic neighbours.  We love seeing everyone, especially when they pop by the store to say “hi”.  Musician Joel Plaskett came by recently and as always it was a pleasure.  Joel often drops in when he is visiting from his home out East. He also has a great new cd.  Check out his music on http://www.joelplaskett.com/
