New Dress Added to the Cabaret Collection: V Neck Wedding Cocktail Dress

This dress is the newest in our line of Cabaret Private Label dresses.  This is the first time that this v-neck design has been available in white – perfect for the cocktail bride. The fabric is a soft, luxurious Poie do Soie; and its sleeveless design is the height of modern glam.  As all of our Private Collection designs, the dress is available for ordering in a variety of sizes and custom fabric options are also available – call us for details.

New Vintage Arrival: Onyx Grecian-style Jersey Dress with detailed collar

This dress is my favorite of the week.  Its classic Grecian-style construction is modernized with the use of 1980’s Jersey and a beaded accent at the neckline.  The draping on this dress is phenomenal and is very flattering to a variety of figure-types.  Also, slightly hidden in the picture is a split in the skirt to allow the easy movement and fluidity of fabric that both Greek gowns and jersey are known for.

New Vintage Arrivals: 1970s Little Black Dress with “Sailor” Colllar

Fun and flirty, this little black dress is reminicient of a sailor-style uniform but done in a polished way.  It has lovely box pleats in the skirt and great design detailing at the bodices with strategic cuts in the pieces to create a patterned design.  The collar is not overwealming and overall its the balanced proportions of the dress that makes it work so well.

January Vintage Fashion Notes from Cabaret

With mild weather in 2009, looking out on Queen St. Here in Toronto it seems that winter has finally arrived.  However we at Cabaret look forward to the change in season if only for the chance to wear fantastic cold-weather accessories!  Of course there are fantastic standards such as coats and capes (one of our vintage fur and wool coats are pictured about) but don’t forget the smaller details.  Adding a touch of vintage glam is easy with elbow length gloves, wraps, and of course wool hats.  Don’t forget colour as well, a well placed oversized silk vintage scarf can brighten your winter wear when most choose to wear the classic black or brown coat.

However you choose to stay warm this winter, never forget you can still look fabulous doing it.
